Inside: Need to keep track of what is in your freezer? Check out this easy to use freezer inventory printable so you never lose food again.

freezer inventory printable

Recently I was filling my freezer full of freezer meals and I found a big container of ham. I had completely forgotten about it and of course, it was freezer burnt.

I am pretty sure that it is some leftovers from Thanksgiving 2015. It makes me sad to have to throw out food.

I know I should be better at keeping track of what I have in my freezer. I decided that with all the freezer meals I was making I should probably keep an inventory of what is in my freezer.

So, I made up a freezer inventory printable to help remind me what is in my freezer.

With the virus going around it has sometimes been hard to get all the meat that I want to get fresh from the store.

Each time I have been shopping I try to pick up one or two extra pounds of meat or some frozen foods to add to our freezer.

This is a great way to make sure you have some extra food on hand in case you get sick or food is hard to get.

This printable is great if you often make freezer meals, buy meat in bulk, or in general just have a lot of things in your freezer.

We often have meats that I have cooked up like ground beef and shredded chicken.

I have veggies that I have frozen (I prefer to freeze veggies instead of can them) from summer.

When you add in freezer meals it makes for a very packed and disorganized freezer!

With the freezer inventory printable I can quickly look at what we have in the freezer. It helps me on busy days that I may not have time to cook a homemade dinner. I can just look at what we have in the freezer and grab a freezer meal.

To use the freezer inventory printable just follow the directions to print below.

Enter your email below and I will send you the PDF so you can easily print the freezer inventory printable from your computer. It’s easy and free!

    Using the Freezer Inventory Printable

To start I always recommend you clean out your freezer before you start your printable.

You can get rid of any expired foods and get an idea for what foods you need to use up soon.

Then, just fill it out with what you currently have in your freezer. As you go shopping add the items you buy to the freezer inventory list.

I always recommend adding the expiration date to the printable so you know when to use foods up. If you are wondering how long foods will last in the freezer you can see the chart here.

If there are foods that will be going bad soon you can highlight them so you can add them to your meal planning over the next few weeks.

    Reusing The Freezer Printable

If you want to save paper and don’t want to be reprinting the freezer inventory printable all the time then you can just laminate it and use a wet erase marker to write everything down.

It’s easy and it works great.

Make sure you keep your printable someplace that is easy to find. I keep mine attached to the front of my extra freezer door. Most of our meats and freezer meals are stored in the extra freezer in our basement.

Not only is this freezer inventory printable free but it will help save you money! No more food going bad before you have a chance to fix it.

I love using inventory trackers! I use one that tracks all three (our freezer is pathetic). I wish I could have a large freezer!

Can you provide a link to the new freezer you bought?

I bought my freezer from Menards, however, they only sell it in the store. I will also include a link to one at Home Depot which is very similar to the one I bought. I hope that helps. Thanks!

Another thing that I do to freeze items is use my FoodSaver. I can’t begin to tell you how much money I have saved by using this machine. I have different size rolls of the plastic and the bags that you make can be put in the dishwasher to reuse if you have quite a bit of the bag left. I’m on my 4th FoodSaver – I use it so much that I burn out the motor. Food stays fresh as the day I bought it for years without freezer burn.
