Inside: Save yourself time with this easy tip on how to cook ground beef in crock pot. You can cook up extra to freeze. It’s easy cooking ground beef in crock pot.

I love finding new uses for my crockpot. I used to just use it for pot roast in winter, but now you can pretty much find it all year long cooking foods on my counter. With it being winter it gets so cold and dark early here. The last thing I feel like doing is starting to cook dinner about the time it’s dark. I have started to make a lot more freezer meals so I can just pull a meal out of the freezer.

When I am freezer cooking I usually end up making 3-5 pounds of ground beef. I use some of it in recipes like lasagna or burritos, and some of it for taco meat. Instead of needing a huge skillet to cook up all the ground beef I can just toss it in the crockpot and let it do all the work for me.

It’s easy to do and there is very little mess or cleanup for me to do. Wondering how to cook ground beef in crock pot? Check it out.

I recommend starting with a crockpot liner. You can get them at Aldi for cheap, or pick them up from Amazon. I don’t use them all of the time, but I love it to make less of a mess when I am cooking ground beef in crock pot.

Once you have your crockpot liner in just add the ground beef. I recommend doing at least 3 pounds. If I am going to the trouble I would rather make at least enough for a few meals.

Use a spoon or fork to break up the beef and set the crockpot on high for about 2-3 hours. Every half an hour or so make sure you stir and break up the ground beef to prevent large clumps.

When all of the meat is cooked stir it up one more time and then pour into a colander to drain the grease off. Set aside until cooled. When the meat is cooled you can divide into equal portions and either use now or store in a freezer safe container. I just put them in freezer safe ziploc bags and lay them flat to freeze. Then I can easily stack them in the freezer without taking up much space. The meat will last for up to 6 months in the freezer.

I cooked up three pounds and made two large lasagnas to freeze and tacos for tonight’s dinner. It didn’t take me very long and I have three meals plus plenty of leftovers from it. Plus I can just throw away the crockpot liner and rinse my crockpot it. So easy!

It takes almost no more time to cook up a couple of more pounds of ground beef and now you have some extra on hand for those busy nights. No more wondering how to cook ground beef in crock pot. You can easily do it for easy dinners!
