Inside: Trying to save more money? Check out the best things to buy in December to really save. It’s an easy way to save more money without much work.

One of my favorite (and one of the easiest!) ways to save money is by stocking up on foods when the prices are at their lowest. I can buy foods for 50-60% of the regular price. When I see a great price I buy enough to last us a few months.
The best part about stocking up when things are on sale is that it doesn’t take a lot of my time. Just stock up to really save money on your grocery bill. I am able to get my grocery bill to around $50 a week by stocking up and saving.
December is one of my favorite months to stock up and save. Throughout the month of December, we will have some really good deals on foods and baking items. But, the real deals come right after Christmas.
There will be Christmas clearances on foods, decorations, and so much more! Check out the best things to buy in December.
Seasonal Produce To Buy In December
Although we don’t see a lot of in-season produce in December month, there will be a few good deals.
Cabbage, Brussels Sprouts, Winter Squash, Apples, Oranges, Potatoes, Onions, Beets, Carrots, and Sweet Potatoes will all be in season.
We should see a few big sales on apples and oranges before Christmas. If your family eats these you can stock up and make them last longer by storing them in the fridge.
Foods To Stock Up On
With the holidays and Christmas comes a lot of baking! Making cookies and treats seem to be a big holiday tradition for many families.
Because of that, we will see amazing deals on baking items. Flour, sugar, cake mixes, spices, and chocolate will all be on sale this month. Chocolates are one of my favorite things to buy in December.
Don’t just stock up for Christmas. We probably won’t see more baking sales until closer to Easter so stock up now with enough to last you 3-4 months. It’s an easy way to save a little money.
There are also a lot of sales on canned goods. Stock up on soups, sauces, and veggies. If your family likes canned fruits or veggies now is the time to buy.
Some easy prep holiday meal items will be on sale too. Canned gravy, instant mashed potatoes, frozen pies, and rolls. Stock up on those items that you regularly use.
I always find great deals on frozen pizzas this time of year. They are perfect for those busy nights around the holidays.
Other Deals To Buy In December
Is anyone else a big fan of the day after Christmas sales? December 26th is one of my favorite times of the year!
The rush of the holidays is over and we can just enjoy our time as a family. It is so nice!
Plus, I love to go shopping the day after Christmas for clearance deals. There are tons of deals on wrapping paper, bows, and cards the day after Christmas.
It’s also a great time to pick out any new Christmas decorations while they are on clearance.
However, after Christmas sales aren’t just for Christmas stuff. There are plenty of things you can buy for cheap a week or so after Christmas.
You can find deals on items with Christmas themes on them. Things like tissues, Ziploc bags, Tupperware, and kitchen utensils will all be on clearance.
I don’t mind using Ziploc bags with Christmas trees on them all year long if I can get them for really cheap.
If you use perfumes or cologne now is a good time to stock up too. All those Christmas sets of perfume go on clearance for up to 75% off the day after Christmas.
The prices are the best you will find for the whole year, it’s one of the best things to buy in December. If you have coupons you can even get some sets for free or for only pennies. I like to buy enough to last me all year long.
Toward the end of December, some of the good sales on winter clothes will start too. I always like to pick up winter coats in December or January.
Saving money doesn’t always have to take a lot of time. Just by stocking up on a few extras when they are at their lowest can save you $100’s. These are just a few of my favorite things to buy in December. What are your top things to stock up on in December?
