Inside: Trying to save more money? Check out the best things to buy in August to really save. It’s an easy way to save more money without much work.
One of my favorite (and one of the easiest!) ways to save money is by stocking up on foods when the prices are at their lowest. I can buy foods for 50-60% of the regular price. When I see a great price I buy enough to last us a few months.
The best part about stocking up when things are on sale is that it doesn’t take a lot of my time. Just stock up to really save money on your grocery bill. I am able to get my grocery bill to around $50 a week by stocking up and saving.
August is a great month to stock up on foods and deals. There are still plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables that are on sale in August. We will also see some fantastic deals on back to school items. Even if you don't have kids you can stock up on some office supplies. Save some money and check out the best things to buy in August.
Seasonal Produce To Buy In August
I love saving some money by purchasing in-season produce. It helps with the grocery budget and we always get the best fresh fruits and veggies. It really is such an easy way to save your family some money each week.
In August there will be deals on corn, cucumbers, eggplant, tomatoes, green beans, lettuce, watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, peaches, and raspberries.
This will pretty much be the last month for fresh blueberries so if you like them grab a bunch. I like to freeze them and toss them in smoothies.
Corn on the cob is one of my families favorite foods and this will also be the last month for it. You can easily take the corn off the cob and freeze it. It tastes so much better than store-bought frozen corn. If you want to easily remove corn from the cob check out these three mess-free ways to remove it.

Best Foods To Buy In August
Around here kids head back to school in August so there will be so many deals on breakfast and lunchbox items. We will see lots of deals on frozen pancakes and waffles, breakfast bars, pudding cups, individual sized chips, lunch meat and more. Peanut Butter, Jam, and Crackers will also be on sale. I like to stock up on peanut butter and jelly to make some homemade uncrustables. They are super easy to make and they work great as a quick snack or lunch.
As it gets closer to September (and Labor Day!) we will see some really good sales on hot dogs, ketchup, mustard, and other BBQ items. Usually, it’s the last sales for chips and ice tea for a while, so if you like to eat or drink these regularly you will want to stock up.

Everyone from Staples to Walmart will have back to school supplies for dirt cheap. You can often find school and office supplies for as low as a penny.
Don’t forget to stock up on things for around the house while they are on sale. I try to buy pens, scotch tape, glue, and post-it notes while they are really cheap. Check out some easy back to school savings hacks.
Back to school sales also means fantastic deals on dorm furniture and bedding. This is a great opportunity to get some furniture and bedding at a low price. If you are thinking of redoing a kids room now is the time to do it.
The last deals of August will be on summer clothing. By the end of August, most stores will have their summer clothes for 75% off. You can save some money by purchasing clothes for next summer.
