    how to make dawn powerwash

Recently I tried Dawn Powerwash and I love how well it cleans. It works great as a dish spray plus there are plenty of other uses around the house for Dawn Powerwash too.

I decided instead of buying a refill bottle for the powerwash I would try making my own at home.

If you have wondered how to make your own Dawn powerwash check out these step-by-step tips below.

    ingredients to make powerwash

    How To Make Dawn Powerwash

It only takes a few minutes to make a DIY Dawn Powerwash Refill for your container. Plus you probably have everything you already need at home.

To make the powerwash you will need a few things.

    Ingredients:

    • Dawn dish soap (I recommend the blue kind)
    • Rubbing Alcohol
    • Water
    • Container (I just use my old bottle and refill)
    • Essential oils (if desired)

    Getting Started

To start you will need a container for the powerwash spray. If you already have a powerwash container at home you can just use that.

If not amazon sells some good containers to use. The important thing to look for is a continuous spray bottle.

I recommend regular dawn dish soap (the blue kind) to use.

As far as rubbing alcohol the higher the percentage the better. I use 70% rubbing alcohol.

Lastly, if you want to make your Dawn Powerwash smell good you will want to use some essential oils.

I prefer to use lemon essential oil since it smells good and helps get rid of grease.

    Making Your Dawn Powerwash Refill

Step 1: Add 2 ounces of dawn dish soap to the spray bottle.

Step 2: Pour in 1 oz of rubbing alcohol to the bottle.

Step 3: If you wish to add essential oil to the dawn powerwash put in about 10 drops. It will give it a nice citrus smell.

Step 4: Very slowly add about 12 to 16 ounces of water to the bottle. This will depend on how big your bottle is. If you add it too quickly you will get lots of bubbles and it will over flow.

Step 5: Replace your top and gently shake the bottle. You are ready to use it!

    Using the DIY Dawn Powerwash

To use the powerwash just give it a little shake to make sure that all the dawn and rubbing alcohol is mixed up.

Then spray on your dishes and let them soak for a minute or two if they are really bad.

Scrub away the grime and baked on food with a scrubby or a dish cloth.

The Dawn power wash can also be used on other things like cleaning the sink, wiping down countertops or even on stainless steel.

You will love how easy it is to make this Homemade Dawn Powerwash and inexpensive too!
