I love using dry erase boards. We have one on the fridge that I use for carpool schedules and one that I use to make a list of what leftovers we have so I don't forget about them. It's so easy for me to be able to quickly jot down a note and then erase it when I am done. So I was thrilled when my husband had a huge one he could bring home from work. I had been wanting one to put in his office to write down ideas for articles.

Unfortunately, the dry erase board that he brought home had some stains on it. If your dry erase boards are anything like the ones that I have you probably have noticed that if you leave something written on it for very long it still leaves behind some of the colors on the dry erase board. However getting rid of the leftover stains and smudges is easy. It only takes a few minutes to do and you probably already have the stuff you need in your house.

You will need to start with a paper towel or old rag. I normally love microfiber cloths for cleaning, but because the ink will transfer to it I recommend an old rag you can throw away or a paper towel. Wipe the dry erase board down to get any easy to remove marks off. Then add a little bit of rubbing alcohol to the paper towel. Wipe down the dry erase board with the rubbing alcohol concentrating on any areas that have stains on them. The stains should just wipe off. If the stains are really bad you may need to go over the dry erase board again with some rubbing alcohol.

That is all you need to do. The stains very quickly disappear and your dry erase board looks like new! You can see my before and after below. The rubbing alcohol got rid of all the stains in seconds with no scrubbing required!

      Nail polish remover also works.

Thanks for the tip :). My dry erase board really needs to be cleaned. It's in pretty rough shape!
