spring cleaning tips

Spring is here! There is always something about spring that puts everyone in a cleaning mood.

I love setting aside a couple of days and really getting everything clean. You can open the windows and let some fresh air inside your home.

Spring Cleaning Tips

It's easy to get started cleaning and then get distracted part of the way through.

So I thought I would share some of my favorite spring cleaning tips and a free printable with tasks each day to get you started with your spring cleaning.

If you are ready to get started cleaning check out my favorite spring cleaning tips.

spring clean from top to bottom

Spring Clean Top To Bottom

As you clean your home make sure to do the top to bottom. You don't want to have the floors perfect only to get them coated in dust cleaning off the cabinets.

Always start by cleaning the walls or cabinets and finish with the floors. It will keep your house cleaner and you won't need to repeatedly clean areas.

cleaning a ceiling fan

Don't Forget The Fans

It's the time of year when we start opening the windows and running the ceiling fans.

You don't want to be blowing dust everywhere so make sure you clean the fans when you are doing spring cleaning.

Make sure you dust the top of the fan blades to keep them from spreading the dust.

If you want some easy tips to clean ceiling fans you can see how I do it here.

homemade cleaners to make

Make Your Own Cleaners

I love to make my own cleaning supplies. It’s so easy to do and can save you lots of money.

I like that I know what is going into our cleaners and I love that I can change the smells of the cleaners with essential oils.

If you haven’t started making your own cleaners yet you can check out 7 of my favorite household cleaners to make at home.

spring cleaning outside

Clean The Outside Last

I always do my inside spring cleaning first and then go outside. It gives the weather a little bit of time to warm up.

If I am outside cleaning the windows and washing down patio furniture I want to make sure it's not freezing outside.

change furnance filter when spring cleaning

Change Your Furnace Filter

If you do only one of these spring cleaning tips changing your filter is the one to do.

The furnace filters get so dirty and coated with dust. Adding a new filter will help catch more dust from your home.

It's inexpensive, only takes a few minutes, and helps prolong the life of your furnace. If you have problems remembering you can buy your furnace filters on Amazon and set them up to be delivered regularly.

Our furnace filter needs to be changed every 6 months so we just have them send us a new one every 6 months. I don't even have to remember, it just shows up!

You can also get furnace filters delivered monthly from Second Nature. Your first filter is free and you can cancel at any time. Just head over here to sign up!

Free Spring Cleaning Printable

You can also grab the free spring cleaning printable to get you started on some spring cleaning. Each day there is a different cleaning task to do to get your home clean.

Most days it only takes around 15-20 minutes to do the task. At the end of the 30 days, you will have a cleaner home!

I love using this to get me really motivated to clean. What are your favorite spring cleaning tips?
