    how to remove urine stains

If you have dogs or kids you know that sometimes urine stains are just a fact of life. I know it's gross, but as a pet mom I have cleaned up a lot of urine from our carpet and furniture.

We have a small dog that is usually pretty good about letting us know he needs to go outside. But, unfortunately, sometimes he goes in the house.

When he doe,s I don't usually find it until it is dried and old. His preferred spot is in a room we don't usually use.

Luckily I have found an amazing product that gets rid of the urine stain whether they are fresh or months old!

With this simple tip you can easily remove the pee from mattresses, carpet, clothes, and more! It works for pets and kids!

So no matter where or what your urine stain is get rid of the smell for good! Check out this easy tip on how to remove urine stains from just about anything!

How To Remove Urine Stains From Anything!

If you are dealing with urine stains you know they are difficult to remove. I have tried tons and tons of urine removers over the years and nothing works like the one I recently found.

I was actually resigned to the fact that some of our older urine stains in the carpet were here to stay.

Then, I went to an appliance store to look at some refrigerators and while I was there the store owners dog peed on the carpet in the store. The owner pulled out a urine remove called Unique and started to use it.

I was so intrigued I had her show me how to use it and bought some. I used it on an old stain and it worked great! Ever since then I have been sold on how amazing this product is.

They sell a variety of stain removers but I highly recommend this stain remover. It is specially formulated for pet stains but will work on people stains too!

It's easy to use and removes the oldest of stains. Check out how to remove each stain below.

How To Remove Urine Stains From Carpet

Removing old or fresh urine stains from carpet is easy! To start, shake the bottle of Unique really well. This helps mix it up and activate the product.

Then spray it all over the stain on the carpet. Make sure you spray enough so the product can reach the carpet pad too.

I like to spray a little outside of the stain just in case the stain is larger on the pad below.

spraying carpet with spray to get rid of urine stain

Once you have sprayed the stain then take the nozzle of the spray or your fingers and gently rub the area where you sprayed. It's kind of gross, but it makes sure that all of the stain remover covers the spot.

Next, you will need a damp white cloth. Get it wet enough that you can wring out a little bit of water into the carpet where the urine is.

Then, lay the cloth over the stain. It will help keep the stain wet longer. The enzymes need the wetness to do their thing.

You will want to use a white cloth so the cloth doesn't turn your carpet funny colors. If you are like me and don't like the idea of washing that in your washing machine you can use a paper towel.

After about 8 hours remove the cloth from the stain and allow the area to completely dry.

Once it is dry you should notice the stain and the urine smell is completely gone. If it isn't you may need to repeat the steps one more time.

I don't at all understand keeping it wet, or the enzymes, all I know is this really works on some of my dogs worst urine stains. It is great at removing urine stains and smells from carpet.

How To Remove Urine Stains From A Mattress

If you are dealing with a urine stain on the mattress it most likely is a people accident and not from your pet. No worries, the Unique spray works just as well with people urine as pet urine.

To remove a urine stain from the mattress spray the stain with the Unique spray. Make sure you spray enough so it can soak into the mattress where the urine went too.

Similarly to the carpet, you will want to lay a damp cloth over the mattress where the urine stain is.

Let the cloth sit on the stain for about one hour. After the hour remove the damp cloth and let the mattress dry. If the stain and smell still remains repeat the process again.

Once the smell and stain is gone then let the mattress completely dry before you put a mattress cover and sheets back on the bed.

How To Remove Urine Stains From Clothes

Most of the time urine can easily be removed from clothes just by washing them. But, occasionally you can have those smells stick around. It is easy to remove urine stains from clothes with this simple tip.

To get rid of any urine stains and smells in clothes or sheets just spray the area with the stain with the Unique spray. Make sure there is enough to really cover the whole area.

Let the clothes soak for about 2-3 hours and wash as you normally would. I recommend using the hottest water possible for the garment.

Then, just dry like normal and the stains and smells should be gone.

Say goodbye to the smell of urine in your house with these simple tips! Whether you are dealing with urine stains in your carpet or mattress they are easy to deal with.

It works just as well with set-in stains as it does fresh urine stains. Have your house smell fresh again with these simple tips on how to remove urine stains from just about anywhere!
