Inside: Want to try Rockin Green Detergent but not sure if it really works? Check out my review to find out does Rockin Green activewear detergent really work.
About 6 months ago I started seeing advertisements for Rockin Green Activewear Detergent in my Facebook feed. If you haven't seen them, they usually show sheets or activewear in the bathtub. The water is always completely disgusting. Sometimes a dark grey or black.
At first, I just ignored the commercials but after a while, I was so intrigued. I started to wonder if Rockin Green really worked. I love a fun cleaning experiment so I ordered some from Amazon and got started on my experiment.
If you have ever wonder does Rockin Green activewear detergent really work then keep on reading for some pictures and results. FYI I wasn't at all paid for this and Rockin Green has no idea who I am. I just thought it would be fun to try it out and review it.
I bought the Rockin Green Activewear over the regular because I had heard people say they use it on the activewear and on their sheets. It makes sense because as gross as it sounds we spend 8 hours a day sleeping in our sheets. In summer we can even get hot and sweat in the sheets.
We have white sheets so I knew they would be perfect for the test. Any color change to the water would be from the dirt or detergent, not from the dyes.
I filled a sink, instead of the tub to keep it smaller. I used hot water like was recommended and 1 scoop of the Rockin Green Activewear Detergent.
I started by filling up the sink with the water and adding the detergent. You can see below the water and detergent before adding any of the sheets. The water was just soapy and pretty clear.
Next, I added in both of our pillowcases and sheets. You can see below how yellow the sheets are in some areas. I wash them every week, but unless I bleach or clean them with shampoo all of the yellow tends to stay in there.
I swished the sheets around in the water for a minute or two to make sure they got completely wet. Then I set a timer for 30 minutes and let them soak in the water.
After 30 minutes I went over and pulled the sheets over to one side. As you can see from the picture below, the water was dirty and a little grey, but not even close to being as gross as some of the pictures I had seen online.
My yellowed sheets, however, were much whiter than before. I tossed them in the washing machine on the hot water cycle and added 2 scoops of detergent. They came out much whiter than they have been in a long time. I was very happy with how clean they looked and felt without hardly any work.
Since trying Rockin Green on my sheets I have also tried it on my husbands' favorite hat. He wears it to keep the sun off of his face while he is doing yard work. Because of that, it smells really bad. I soaked it for about 1 minute in the sink with some Rockin Green and then rinsed it. The sweat smell is completely gone.
Overall I have been pretty impressed with Rockin Green. I do feel like it is pretty expensive, even though a little goes a long way. I wouldn't use it every day for regular clothes, but for those stinky smelly clothes that are hard to clean it is perfect.
So if you have been wondering does Rockin Green Activewear really work I say yes! It gets rid of smells and sweat. If you don't mind paying a little more for some special laundry detergent every once in a while buy a bag and give it a try.
