Don't deal with dull knives. Check out the easiest way to sharpen kitchen knives. It only takes a few minutes to get a kitchen knife sharp again.

sharpening kitchen knives at home

I am huge Masterchef fan. I love watching the show each week. Especially if Gordon Ramsey demonstrates how to cook something. He usually starts by starts by sharpening his knives. He pulls out some long steel stick and runs the knife so quickly over it. It might be the way most chefs sharpen their knives but it completely baffles me. I wouldn't know what angle to use it from or anything.

I was so baffled by how they sharpen knives that I was afraid to sharpen kitchen knives for the first couple of years I had them. Then my husband bought me this little tool for sharpening my kitchen knives and I love it!

It's easy to use and only takes a few minutes. If you have dull kitchen knives check out the easiest way to sharpen kitchen knives.

I would recommend putting the sharpener in a clean sink to sharpen the knives.

Note: I have noticed that they can leave teeny, tiny metal shavings and I just don't want that on my counter.

Step 1: Start by slowly running the knife from base to tip over the coarse sharpening area. You don't have to press down hard.

Step 2: Repeat by running it slowly over it around 3-4 times depending how dull your knife is. It keeps the nice angle on the blade that your knife came with. You don't have to do anything but pull it straight through the sharpener.

Step 3: Then, run it over the fine sharpening area base to tip around 3-4 times.

Step 4: Once you have sharpened the knife then you can wash it to remove any small metal shavings. Use hot water, a little dawn soap, and a microfiber cloth.

Step 5: Dry the knife and set it aside.

Step 6: Once you are finished sharpening all your knives I recommend washing off the knife sharpener to remove any of the metal shavings.

Step 7: Then dry off the sharpener and put it away until next time.

I recommend sharpening your knives every month or so. You will be amazed at the difference it makes.

The sharpening tool keeps my knives razor sharp. It makes life so much easier whether you are cutting tomatoes from the garden or any other fruits and vegetables.

You don't have to deal with dull knives anymore with this simple trick. It's easy to sharpen kitchen knives and doesn't take much time.

Just ordered this from Amazon after reading your advice. Thanks for sharing this. I have bought several knife sharpeners over the years and always feel as if they do nothing. Hope this is different!
