Removing Hard Water Stains From Glasses
Recently I cleaned a really badly stained drinking glass. It's one that we keep in our bedroom for the dogs to drink out of. Yes, I know, it's really weird that my dogs drink out of glasses.
Even in pictures, you can see how bad the hard water stains are. The picture below is before the glass is cleaned.
Items Needed To Remove Hard Water:
- Vinger (just the plain white vinegar
- Water
To clean the hard water stains you will need to fill up your sink with enough water to cover the glasses.
Note: It doesn't really matter if you use warm or cold water. Then add about 1 cup of vinegar to the water and mix.
If you have really badly stained glasses like mine you may want to add another 1/4-1/2 cup of vinegar.
Then add your glasses to the water.
Let the glasses soak for at least 30 minutes in the vinegar and water mixture.
I usually just put them in before I run some errands so they soak for about 1-2 hours.

After you have let them soak remove one and wash it off. Even when it is wet you should be able to see if the hard water film is gone. If it is you can remove all the glasses from the sink, rinse them off, and wash them in the dishwasher or how you normally clean them. If you still notice some film put them back in to soak for a little longer.
Although I know my dogs don't care I am happy that the glass looks so much better. I love how clean and shiny the glasses are now that they have been cleaned. By doing this every few months you can keep all your drinking glasses sparkling clean with just a few minutes of your time.
