I am really bad with laundry. I, for some reason, can wash and dry the laundry, but can’t get it put away. Which means we are always and forever dealing with wrinkled clothes. So, wrinkle releaser is my best friend. I love how it quickly removes the wrinkles from our clothes.
The Downy brand that you buy in the store is great, the only problem is the price. I usually pay close to $5 a bottle. So, when I came across this recipe here I was so excited. I have used this recipe of homemade wrinkle releaser for the last couple of years and it works great.
You will need some liquid fabric softener, water, and a spray bottle. I have tried different kinds of fabric softener and can’t tell the difference, so I just stick with the cheapest.
Measure out 2 tablespoons of the fabric softener and 2 cups of water. Mix it together and pour in a spray bottle.
Whenever your laundry is a bit wrinkled just spray the homemade wrinkle releaser on the item and brush your fingers over it. The wrinkles disappear and within a few minutes, the item is dry. Plus, it smells great too.
I love to have a bottle of the homemade wrinkle releaser in my closet for wrinkled clothes. It’s also great to put in a small travel bottle and carry with you on trips. My husband has a small bottle that he carries on trips to make sure his suits aren’t wrinkled.
Here is a wrinkled dress shirt from the laundry pile.
And here it is after spraying it with the wrinkle releaser. It looks much better and no iron was needed!
So, whether you are a big slacker like me and leave your clean clothes in a giant pile, or you just want to get the wrinkles out of your clothes while traveling this homemade wrinkle releaser is cheap and easy to make.
