As it gets closer to the holidays there are always parties to bring food to and guests stopping by. It’s often hard to find an appetizer that is easy to throw together, that doesn’t take lots of time. If you are looking for a simple appetizer to serve, this cranberry and almond baked brie is the appetizer for you. It takes about 10 minutes to make and looks and tastes fantastic.
You will need a roll of crescents, small round of brie (Aldi usually sells theirs for $2.99) honey, sliced almonds, and dried cranberries.
I start by taking off the outside layer of the brie. Some people like the flavor, some don’t. My son and I fall into the don’t category. So, I just take a few minutes and cut some of it off. It doesn’t have to be perfect, your cheese will look very ugly here. That’s okay, you won’t notice once you wrap it.
Once you have the cheese cleaned off, take out the crescents and lay them on a baking sheet. I like to use a silpat mat on a pan. Press the crescents together so you have one big crescent dough.
Place the cheese round in the center of the dough. Add about a tablespoon of dried cranberries and sliced almonds on top of the cheese. Then drizzle some honey over it.
Wrap the crescent over the top of the cheese, one corner at a time. When you get it fully wrapped place it in an oven heated to 375.
Let it cook until the crescent starts to look a nice golden brown. This will take about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve with crackers.
This yummy appetizer will impress your guests without leaving you a lot of work. I love to make it and serve with a bottle of wine for a cheap date night.
