Bananas can be so hard to buy. If you buy the ripe ones, in two or three days you will have all brown bananas. But, if you buy them green it can take three or four days to get ripe.

Check out this easy tip on how to ripen bananas in 24 hours.

How To Quick Ripen Bananas

The trick is to buy green bananas and then quickly ripen some of them. I usually buy 6-7 at a time and ripen the first three.

Then in a couple of days, the rest of the bananas are ripe, just at the right time.

It's really easy to ripen bananas in under 24 hours.

Items Needed:

  • brown bag
  • an apple (any variety)

Place the bananas in the bag along with the apple.

Then roll up the ends of the bag. Place the bag in a warm, dry area. The apple will give off a gas inside the bag that will quickly ripen the banana. After 24 hours your bananas will be ripe.

Check out the difference in the before and after. The bananas are much less green after only about 16 hours in the bag.

This is such a simple tip, but it makes a big difference. I have found we eat more bananas when we can always have them ripe.
