Cleaning the house isn't necessarily the most fun. I really don't want to spend my whole day cleaning the house. Over the last 18 years as a homemaker, I have found what really works for me. I have written articles and read books on the best cleaning tips and tricks. If you want to spend less time cleaning and more time enjoying your life check out this ultimate list of cleaning hacks.
If you are just starting out I recommend the 30-day cleaning challenge. I usually do this myself every spring and fall. Each day you can complete a different task that takes about 30 minutes or less. At the end of 30 days, your home will be cleaner and you will see what a difference a clean home makes. There is also a free printable that you can use to do the challenge each day.
Kitchen Cleaning Hacks
The kitchen is one of those rooms in my home that always seems to be messy. Just when you think you have it under control you find you have a sink full of dishes. Plus, everything seems to get greasy really quick from all the cooking. If you are like my family and eat in some meals in the kitchen it becomes extra messy.
Although I may not be able to help you with that pile of dishes in the sink I do have some easy kitchen cleaning hacks that will help you get the kitchen clean and under control in less time.
- Kitchen cabinets seem to be a magnet for grease. Once the grease splatters on them it is tough to get it off. I love this simple tip to remove grease from kitchen cabinets. Use this cleaning hack to get your cabinets looking clean and new again.
- The oven is a hot spot for grease and grime. If you have a self-cleaning oven feature you may be tempted to use it. But, I have had way better luck using this trick to clean oven racks and this paste to clean the oven.
- Water stains on granite drive me crazy! I have learned how to get rid of hard water stains on granite with this easy trick.
- In the kitchen the right floor cleaner is everything. I love this homemade floor cleaner to help cut grease and get the floors squeaky clean. If you have vinyl floors and are dealing with ground in dirt check out how to remove dirt from vinyl floors easily.

Laundry Room Cleaning Hacks
If you are like me doing laundry isn't at all on your favorite chore list. However, with these laundry room cleaning hacks you can keep your laundry room clean and running smoothly.
- Cleaning your washing machine regularly is a must. It doesn't take a lot of time, but it will keep your clothes smelling fresh. You can see my simple tips on how to clean a front load washer. I was amazed at the difference it made cleaning the washer and the dirt and grime I found in the washing machine were amazing. - If your dryer is clogged it will take more time to dry your clothes or can even start a fire. This is one of those cleaning hacks you don't want to ignore. I am always amazed at all the lint that I find trapped in the dryer vent. You can see all the details to this super easy job here.
- The laundry hamper needs to be cleaned regularly to keep away germs and bacteria. We fill it with our dirty clothes and the germs can easily be transferred to the hamper. If you have a hamper with a cloth liner the easiest way to clean it is by washing the liner in hot water. If you have a plastic hamper then you can spray them down with warm water. Then add a squirt or two of dawn soap. Scrub down the inside and outside of the hamper with a sponge or scrub brush. Then just rinse it out and let it dry.
- Doing a load of laundry every day is a great way to keep up with the laundry in your house. Or make one day a week laundry day and spend the day washing and putting away laundry.

I hear over and over again from readers that the bathroom is their least favorite room to clean. I totally understand it's not at all fun to clean the bathroom. However, with a few bathroom cleaning hacks you can become a pro at cleaning the bathroom and spend less time cleaning the bathroom and more time doing what you love.

- If you have stains in your toilet bowl you can use this simple tip to get rid of toilet stains. It gets rid of the stains without using a bunch of chemicals.
- Vinyl shower curtains can get gross fast so clean them easily in the washing machine. It's quick to do and will have them smelling fresh again.
