    6 ways to pamper yourself

I love going to get a manicure or having a back massage. It is such a great way to relax and pamper yourself. Unfortunately, this usually comes at a price. However, there are ways to still indulge and spoil yourself without blowing your budget.

    Homemade Facial

I love getting a facial, it's such a great way to relax. I like to fill the sink up with hot water and add a few drops of essential oils. Then hang your head over the sink and place a towel over your head to hold in steam. It's like a mini sauna for your face. The essential oils help relax me. You can also find so many DIY facial masks on pinterest.  Many of them use ingredients that you probably already have at home.

    Bath with Candles

I love a nice long bath. It's my favorite frugal way to unwind. Add some candles around the bathtub and turn off the lights to completely relax. Sometimes, I even grab a glass of wine to take in with me. It's heavenly and doesn't cost much at all.

    Trade Massages

See if your spouse will give you a massage if you return the favor another night. Massages are a fantastic way to relax your muscles after a long day. If you are really tense, try warming up some lavender essential oil with olive oil. It makes a great relaxing oil to use with the massage.

    Give Yourself a Manicure

Instead of heading to the salon, try giving yourself a manicure or pedicure. Soak your hands in a sink filled with warm water. You can use this gardener's scrub to get them soft after soaking them. Then gently push back your cuticles and cut back any nails. Finish with a nail polish color of your choice. I have found that it is worth the money to buy a premium polish like OPI.

Read a New Book or Magazine

Grab a magazine at the store or a new book from the library and relax for a while. I love having uninterrupted reading time. It always seems like such a treat. Spending a couple of dollars on a new magazine or book can be an inexpensive way to relax.

    Go To a Beauty School

We have a beauty school nearby that offers manicures for only $7. They offer all kinds of relaxing treatments for reduced prices because they are students. I have found it's a great way to relax on a budget. It's a fun, frugal way to spend the afternoon.

Getting some pampering time in doesn't have to involve a lot of money or a lot of time. You can easily relax and indulge yourself on a budget. How do you like to pamper yourself on a budget?

With three little ones, right now I consider a nap to be the ultimate luxury! But seriously, I try to have at least one night a month dedicated to self-care. I might try out a new DIY face scrub, buy a new bottle of soap or lotion, do some yoga, have a glass of wine on the porch, or just go to bed early. It's always worth it!

What great ideas. I love to get a manicure but hardly ever allow myself to splurge on one. I will go check with the local beauty school to see if they offer this. Thanks for the great tip.
