At the beginning of April, my family and I are taking off for California on a vacation. I am so excited! My husband had some airline miles that we used to get a free ticket, plus 2 really cheap tickets to Los Angeles. I booked a condo near Disneyland and we are going to spend 5 days hanging out at the beach and going to Disneyland. To help pay for some of the trip I thought I would do a spending freeze in March.

It is my first time doing a spending freeze so I will be learning as I talk about it. Our plan is to use as little money as possible this month. Obviously, we still have the regular bills to pay and gas for the car. We, however, won't be buying things like clothes or going out to eat. I will try to use as much as I can out of our pantry to keep the grocery bill down.

I will be talking about our spending freeze on Facebook each day. You can follow along with our spending freeze and see what works and what doesn't. Starting March 1st I will share ideas for rules of our 30 day spending freeze, ideas for a no spend weekends, date night activities, meal planning, and much more.

At the end of the 30 days you will have a better budget and hopefully lots of extra cash! I am hoping to save around $800 to pay for the food and condo while we are there. So head on over here and follow me on facebook to join along in the challenge.

Best of luck to you! I'm confident that you'll be able to save your goal. A vacation will feel so spectacular after a "restricted" month. Great idea to match the timing with a trip. I'll have to borrow that for the next time we get out of the state.
