Summer is one of my most favorite times of the year. The kiddo is off school and we can lay around and relax. The only problem is that the older he gets the more stuff he has to do during the day. He has swim practice twice a day, plus he is taking an online class this summer to get one of his high school credits out of the way. This is his last summer before he starts high school. I know soon summers will be filled with more sports and a summer job.
Because I don't want the whole summer to pass us by without doing some things we love I made a summer bucket list printable. I have spots for 40 activities that I would like to do this summer. With about 70 days off school, this will have us doing something almost every other day. I usually include stuff like ride our bikes for ice cream, go to a drive-in, and have a water balloon fight. Some of the things I include like go for a hike are free and some like go to the beach will cost money. I try to include a lot of free things so it doesn't break the budget.
On the rainy days when my son feels like he has nothing to do we have a long list of ideas. It's great to try new things and make family memories. We always include "lay around all day" as one of our bucket list ideas. Then, the last day before school starts we spend the whole day in our pajamas. It's a fun, relaxing way to end the summer.
